A reeking distillation of fungal mold, the Forest of Shrooms seems insanely alive to all senses. Sporous droppings overswarm the forest, and a canopy of gargantuan caps chokes light from the fungal landscape. Still-small Alice needs to locate the right mushroom to grow to normal size – how many mushrooms will she try before she finds the right one, and what deformities will the wrong ones, when sampled, bring?

A volatile mix of rotten leaves and putrefied fruit burbles in the caterpillar’s hookah. It bleeds a truly mephitic aroma. But even this rank stench is lost in the intense and pervasive fungal stink of the Mushroom Forest. The Caterpillar Garden is a noxious place. Nevertheless, closely attend the worm’s erudite curriculum, for it may also be a place of discovery.

Dank, festering catacombs wend like a black widow’s web beneath the menacing Forest of Shrooms. The eerie scratch of numberless footsteps and the splatter of seeping ooze trigger a frightening echo in this subterranean hive. But even this din cannot conceal the ominous clacking of the predacious arthropod’s flesh-shredding jaws.
