Having lost your Creature at the end of Land 2, Land 3 focuses on extending your Influence all by your lonesome. In addition to your starting Celtic village, there are four other villages – Japanese, Indian, Egyptian and Tibetian. Resources are not a problem as the Celtic village has Miracle Food and there is a Miracle Wood dispenser at the foot of the waterfall. The Shaolin Challenge is activated when you start to impress the Japanese village, complete this Challenge before you conquer the Japanese village. If you don’t, you will not receive any help from him later in the level. The Tree Puzzle is activated after you impress the Indian village, completing it gives Miracle Flock to the Indian village. The villages are placed such that they start off out of range of your Influence, with the third village significantly so. The Land is not impossible, and you do not have to move your hand in and out of your Influence to impress the villages. The first method of extending your Influence is to build more houses. The second approach is to build a village center just out of range of your Influence. The second method is faster, but it does give you another village to manage, along with desires to fulfil. In either case, charge up your belief and build Wonders. While Lethys will bother you with Challenges after you conquer a new village, he does not attack your villages, nor does he attempt to convert them back. Take your time, keep the people happy, and you will have the entire land bathed in red. |

Either I’m doing something wrong – but how is that possible? There’s no right way to play B&W – or Land 3 didn’t go through much QA.As you can see in the first pic, I don’t have a Temple. The second pic shows me building an Egyptian Wonder next to my Japanese village, before I took over the Egyptian village. I could have built an Egyptian village center as well. BTB, that’s an approx. 6,000 belief Wonder. the Japanese wonder is 5,000 belief. I also couldn’t complete the “Oh help us, Great and Magnificent Divinity, we are so on fire” Challenge. Saved them all, but the game couldn’t seem to realise that. Ah well, I’ll be putting up some Land 3 tips to the Walkthru section later today or tommorow. |
