The Underworld Dungeon Keeper I

Basic Keeping

• To switch resolution modes (the default is low-res), press ALT+R.
• Speed is everything.
• When your minion icon blinks, it means you have reached your minion limit, kill off your lesser minions and attract more dragons!
• Square Rooms are optimal, do not build your dungeon in a haphazard manner – the keyword here is dungeon, not sewer. Square rooms increase productivity, which translates into increased storage space, or increased production.
• Reinforced walls increase the happiness and productivity of a room. Outline your potential dungeon, reinforce the walls, and take your time building since the opposition cannot break through.
• Separate your rooms with small (3 width) Hatcheries, to save your minions travel time when they are hungry. Hand feeding them, like slapping them, will increase productivity, and unlike slaps, will increase happiness as well.
• Sacrifice Imps.
• If you have access to gemstone, build a huge treasury as close to it as possible, and lock in some level three Imps, which can cast Speed on themselves. Each gem face can support three mining Imps.
• Use Speed Monster and Must Obey whenever possible. Speed is everything.
• A POSSESSed Imp works a lot faster than normal, this is useful when you are mining gold, or outlining your dungeon. Unfortunately, a POSSESSed Imp can only dig and claim.
• In gem rich maps, hold down and charge Sight of Evil in the opposition’s domain, preferably in the lair. Charge your Lightning, and strike the resting creatures. If you do not kill them, you at least increase their unhappiness, and prevent them from resting and recovering health.
• You can Slap a Boulder Trap to activate it, and direct its roll. A well placed boulder can take down half of the enemy, especially if they are trapped in a corridor.
• The best choice for breaking down doors are level 10 Mistresses, since they teleport away when they are done, avoiding any boulders. If you are sure there is no boulder waiting behind that door, use Bile Demons.

Being Horny

• Like all prodigies, our star has a temper and an attitude, build him his own dressing rooms, complete with Lair, Training and Hatchery. Lock him in, and only bring him out when it is time to fight. Alternatively, you can just pay him a bonus by dropping gold on him.
• If you do not want him to train or rest, you can either throw him in prison, torture him, or place him in the temple. Horny, surprisingly, is rather religious, and will happily stay locked in prayer.
