• Mage Spell Progression Tables
• Specialist mages gain one extra spell per spell level but cannot learn spells from opposition schools.
• The Heart of Winter Table given here supercedes the one in the manual.

• Mage Opposition School Tables
• Mage opposition schools are changed once Heart of Winter is installed. Specialist wizards who have already inscribed spells into their spell book from an opposition school will not lose those spells. The new restriction(s) applies to spells the specialist attempts to inscribe into their spellbook after the expansion has been installed.
• Hint :: The IWD Conjurer opposition school is Divination, but because “lesser divination” – divination spells 3rd-level and below – are availiable to all mages ((in 2E AD&D, a mage has to cast “Read Magic” in order to scribe a scroll)), and because IWD has no Divination spells above 2nd-level anyways, an IWD Conjurer has no restrictions. Since learned spells are not forgotten, you can scribe all the Invocation spells in IWD before installing HoW, thus you will only be restricted from the few Invocation spells that come in HoW.
