Final Scene Walkthrough
| Through a Mirror, Darkly |
SPOILER ALERT :: You have been warned.
Make sure your party is fully rested before you go through the Mirror, you will be fighting two Iron Golems and the Ultimate Bad Guy (UBG).
The first part of this combat has to be fought with your hand hovering over the pause key. Each of your party members has to be handled individually (some of you may be used to this, but some players just let the party do the fighting on their own).
Pause as soon as you can, UBG would have casted Dispel Magic on your party. Split your party into three groups, your thief and mages (including your bard) and two groups of fighters (including your priests). Move each fighter group to the left and right. Let your thief Find Traps, and your mage cast Power Word: Silence, any other spellcasters should cast Acid Arrow or Burning Arrow.
Release pause, pause as soon as the traps appear. These traps cannot be removed, and will dispel magic when activated, use this to your advantage. Your fighters should encounter the Golems at the side of the room, where they will release Cloud Kill. Move the entire party to the bottom of the room, out of the Cloud Kill, and have your mages cast Acid Arrow.
If you time it correctly, your party will be clustered at the bottom of the room, the fighters engaging the Golems which will be tagged on your mages. Now’s a good time to cast Haste, Prayer and Righteous Wrath of the Faithful. Keep an eye on your characters, cast a new spell as soon as one is released. Keep Stoneskin on your mages, otherwise, keep on with the Acid Arrow, switching to Magic Missile when you run out of damage over time spells. Don’t forget to use Bardsong when your Bard runs out of spells.
After the Golems drop, you can choose to engage UBG in melee or just keep your party running around the perimeter while the multiple Acid Arrows take their toll.
Make sure all your party members survive, after this combat, the game will be completed and your party will automatically be exported to the characters folder in your game folder.
The characters will be called IWD#, where # is the character’s position in the party (between 1 to 6).
You can then restart the game and continue using your old characters by clicking on the ‘Import’ button of the character creation screen.
