Neopets has several “Fetch and Gather” type quests available –

Daily Quests – which can be done once a day, and each of which has their own info page on our site.
Faerie Quests – which are given out as Random Events, and has its own info page here.
Normal Quests – which you can do any number of times, detailed below.

Rewards

Mystery Island Kitchen Quest – ±1,000NP or Stat boost for one of your pets or an item (including some which can only be gained from completing this quest).
The Snow Faerie’s Quest – ±1,300NP, a snowball and an item (Battledome or Ice-Cream or Ice-Cream ticket).
The Witch’s Tower – 100-200NP and a Spooky Food.
The Esophagorr – Brain Tree Quest answer or an item.

We have a recommended NP limit for the total price of the items they ask for. You should set your own limit to decide which quests to reject, depending on how much you like to gamble.

You may attempt a total of ten quests per day. This total is for all quests, it is not ten quests each.

The Esophagor is a special quest. When you are on a Brain Tree Quest, he provides you with one of the two answers the Brain Tree requires each time you feed him. Otherwise, he rewards you with an item.

There is no penalty for not completing a quest on time, except that you cannot accept a new quest until the one you are currently on expires.

While some people try quests and decide them to be a waste of money, it is possible to do quests profitably, if you reject those which are too expensive. The chance of a stat boost from the Kitchen Quest, for example, is most likely cheaper than training for higher level pets.
