The theme music for The Sims 3 was scored by award-winning composer Steve Jablonsky, who was recently honoured with a BMI Film Music Award for the soundtrack of The Transformers motion picture.
Jablonsky brings a rich, orchestral sound into The Sims 3, reflecting the game’s new seamless open neighborhood, a key innovation from the previous game. Jablonsky’s score is also featured through the game, in Create-A-Sim, and the Build and Buy modes, with a unique sound to distinguish between the various modes.
In The Sims 3, you are able to visit many areas of the town – such as the beach, gym, bistro or a friend’s home. The music will follow suit. When you are walking by the beach, you will hear seagulls and waves crashing, and the theme music will reflect the breezy feeling of being near the ocean, while the gym will feature faster-paced disco tech.
The Sims 3 offers you unparalleled opportunities for customization with each aspect of the game including the music. You have the freedom to choose the ambient sounds of your game. The stereo feature offers you a wide range of genres to choose from or you can load your own music.
For the first time, you can completely customise the sound of your Sim’s voice. You can choose from a wide variety of voices and then alter the pitch to create unique sounding Sims.
