On MoongatesAll information is current as at U7 I – the last time the Avatar was in Britannia. Also take a look at “Dimensional Travel, a Monograph”, in UO Books. Blue MoongatesAppearing over buried Moonstones, such Moongates will transport one anywhere across the world, based on the phases of the two Britannian Moons, Trammel and Felucca. Unless the Moonstones are dug up and removed, the Moongates appear near each of the eight cities of virtue; Britain, Jhelom, Minoc, Moonglow, New Magincia, Skara Brae, Trinsic and Yew. U4+U5 :: A traveller may reach the destroyed Shrine of Spirituality by entering any Moongate at precisely midnight, or by going through the Minoc gate when both moons are full. U7I :: Regularly used by travellers until corrupted by The Guardian’s Sphere Generator, these Moongates were totally shut down when the Generator was destroyed. Red MoongatesBy placing the Orb of the Moons in relation to oneself, the resulting Moongate will transport thee to a Blue Moongate within the world. Additionally, Red Moongates are capable of transporting one across worlds, and it is through such a Moongate that the Avatar was summoned to Britannia. Similarly, Lord Blackthorn was sent into exile by Lord British through such a Gate.
Black MoongatesU7I :: The only known Black Moongate – permitting interdimensional travel, as well as travel across worlds – was contructed of Blackrock by the Fellowship to permit The Guardian entry into Britannia. Active only during the rare Astronomical Alignment, the Avatar choose to destroy it rather than using it to return to earth, thus taunting The Guardian’s designs, at the cost of being stranded in Britannia. Silver or White Moongates Thus far theoretical, such Moongates are said to permit travel across Time. The Avatar hast yet to encounter such a Moongate, nor has the Time Lord mentioned any in his dealings with the Avatar. |
