- A house will be refreshed every time the owner, a co-owner or a friend double-clicks a door. The door need not be unlocked.
- A ship will be refreshed every time someone with a key (original ship key or duplicate) double-clicks on a gangplank. The gangplank need not be unlocked.
- A message will appear confirming that the house/ship has been refreshed.
- Houses and ships generally decay if they have not been refreshed within 9 to 14 days. The range is wide as it depends on where the house/ship is located. Some areas have elements that put more stress on your house/ship and will cause it to decay at a faster rate.
- It is possible that you may refresh your house/ship before a server goes down for maintenance (5am Local Time) or for any other unexpected reasons (timewarps). If this occurs, the server may not back up the information that it was refreshed and when you next log in, your house/ship may have decayed.
- The official site recommends refreshing every two days.
