- [UOR] The effectiveness of the defensive spells Reactive Armor and Protection are determined by the caster’s Evaluate Intelligence, Meditation, and Inscription skills.
- [09032k] Secondary Skill Gain :: Evaluate Int. can raise whenever Magery is used (this includes casting spells from scrolls).
- The higher your skill, the more accurate your evaluation will be.
- At 76 skill and above, a successful check will enable you to see the target’s current mana as a percentage of its total.
- Evaluate Intelligence is also involved in calculating the potential damage of direct damage spells.
- Whenever you cast a spell, the potential damage is calculated based on several factors - the spell, its circle and your magery - giving you the base damage. This damage then gets scaled based on your Evaluate Int. and the target’s Resisting Spells. The scaling ranges in intensity based on the difference between these two skills. If Evaluating Int. is higher than Resist, then full damage is given.
- After this calculation, the victim still has a chance to resist the spell. The difficulty of resisting the spell is again based on several factors. If you are successful in resisting, you get the resist spell message, and the damage is decreased.
- Successfully resisting a durational spell (such as Curse or Paralyse) will reduce the time you are affected.
- You will get “It looks smarter than a rock, but dumber than a piece of wood” if you target an item with Evaluating Int..
