| Hint | The Resisting Spells skill allows you to avoid the effects of magic. Your Resisting Spells skill is automatically checked each time you are the target of unfriendly magic. |
- Evaluating Int. is involved in calculating the potential damage of direct damage spells.
- Whenever you cast a spell, the potential damage is calculated based on several factors – the spell, its circle and your magery – giving you the base damage. This damage then gets scaled based on your Evaluate Int. and the target’s Magic Resist. The scaling ranges in intensity based on the difference between these two skills. If Evaluating Int. is higher than Resist, then full damage is given.
- After this calculation, the victim still has a chance to resist the spell. The difficulty of resisting the spell is again based on several factors. If you are successful in resisting, you get the resist spell message, and the damage is decreased.
- Successfully resisting a durational spell (such as Curse or Paralyse) will reduce the time you are affected.
