- [09032k] Secondary Skill Gain :: Detect Hidden can raise whenever attempting to pick a lock on a trapped chest or when removing a trap.
- You need a minimum base skill of 50 in both Detecting Hidden and Lockpicking to attempt to use Remove Trap.
- The area you can detect is based on how high your skill is, up to almost the entire screen when you reach Grandmaster.
- Home owners and co-owners can instantly reveal anyone hidden in their home, regardless of skill level. Using Detect Hidden in your home will not increase your skill, nor will it detect traps.
- Hidden people
- Better hiders are more difficult to find than poor ones.
- Having a high Detecting Hidden helps to reveal players trying to Stealth in your vicinity. The chance is based on your Detect Hidden and Int. compared with the player’s Stealth and Dex..
- Trapped Containers
- Boxes, chests, crates, barrels, kegs and baskets can be trapped.
- All dungeon chests are trapped.
- Container traps can do up to 150 HP of damage.
- There is no way to determine the strength of the trap.
- To check if a container is trapped, place it on the floor, use the skill and target the container.
- The skill does not work if the container is in your backpack.
- If the skill is successful and the container is trapped, “[trapped]” will appear over it.
- The colour of the words will indicate the type of trap.
- Purple for explosion traps.
- Blue for dart traps or dart and explosion traps.
- Green for poison traps, poison and dart traps, poison and explosion traps, or poison, dart, and explosion traps.
- Dungeons can spawn the following traps at random locations:
- floor saw trap
- floor spike trap
- poison gas trap
- exploding mushroom trap
- The deeper you go into the dungeon, the more damaging the trap will be.
- Dungeon traps can do up to 60 points of damage.
- Traps in dungeons are invisible until detected, and become visible to all when found.
- At higher skill levels, coming close to simpler dungeon traps will result in “trap here” appearing over the trap. Only the Scout will be able to see these messages though, using the skill will reveal the trap for other players.
- Revealed dungeon traps will disappear after a few minutes.
